Hi. Maybe someone can tell me how to do my nails without getting polish everywhere. I've tried everything. I like doing them myself, because it's more convenient. Thanks for any ideas.

I've heard put vaseline on your cuticles and the polish won't stick on your skin then. But I've never tried it as I prefer just to buff my nails to keep them shiny and occasionally get a manicure if I want color.

Hmmm! Thanks for that. I've always bitten my nails, so I've been painting them with Miracle Grow varnish, which gets well and truly stuck to your skin, so that's useful for later tonight when I paint them again. I never thought Vaseline would stop the vgarnish sticking to your skin.

That's a great idea. I mean, I can get them to look ok, but the polish is all over me. Doo you have a hard time using the brush? Just wondering

Also, while we're on the subject, some of the polish I buy is real sticky. I've looked for polish thinner, but I can't find it. polish remover works, but only for a little while. Thought you girls might have some more ideas

I've heard the vaseline trick before, but never tried it. My nails aren't quite long enough yet, anyway. I'll keep this in mind though. Thanks.

I use clear polish for short nails and white or color for long nails. Don't ever go the fake nails or nail tip route because that will damage your nails. I had the fake nails on for 3 years and it'll take a year for my original nails to grow back.

I never heard of miricle grow - how good of a product is it? How long does the product take to grow and harden your nails?

Another product to grow nails is called Nail Envy. I just found that out a few weeks ago.

As for the polish on the skin: before I paint my nails, I rub nail remover on my skin so that it isn't as sticky so when I use the nail polish remover stick it'll come off quickly. I never tried the vasiline trick - gotta give that one a try.

I do my own because it's cheaper and I can do it anytime anywhere I want. Now if I go for a french maincure THEN I go get them done. There is a french manicure pen available but was told you can only use that on real nails not acrilics. I never do designs or decals.

Toe nails are another story - someone has to do them for me because my back gives out on me after a bit. So I treat myself to a pedicure once in a while.

Does this help any?
